Entre les deux, des chemins
Air de Midi, a contemporary art network in Occitanie, Documents d'Artistes Occitanie, Lieu-Commun, an artist-run space, and Le Nouveau Printemps have joined forces for a unique exhibition. Echoing the commitments of Rossy de Palma, the exhibition at Lieu-Commun brings together works that transcend borders by twelve artists from the Occitanie region.
The exhibition Entre les deux, des chemins features artists selected by Manuel Pomar and Clément Postec following a call for proposals issued to member venues of air de Midi, a contemporary art network in Occitanie. Twelve artists—born, residing, or having lived, studied, or worked in Occitanie—exhibit their works, which explore themes of exile and migration through unique narratives and diverse contemporary practices, drawing on personal experiences, inherited lives, or distanced perspectives.
The exhibition creates an open and ephemeral space where individual trajectories and collective experiences engage in dialogue to trace intersecting paths—paths of passage, transformation, and sharing. Tributes, concerns, and creative resistance shape memories and projections.
Two prizes are awarded:
– the Jury Prize, chaired by Rossy de Palma, alongside Meriem Berrada, curator and artistic director, and Valérie Du Chéné, artist and teacher, at the opening of Nouveau Printemps. It offers the winning artist a collaboration with Documents d'Artistes Occitanie to write a critical text on their work.
– the Audience Award, determined by voting, awarded at the closing of Le Nouveau Printemps, offering the winning artist the opportunity to participate in the 2027 edition of the festival.
