Lucile Martinez
Born in 1991. Lives and works in Toulouse.
Lucile Martinez is a graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Angers. She has developed a pictorial practice inspired by travels, encounters, and moments of gathering. Her paintings bring into being real scenes, landscapes she has traversed, and people she has met, conceived as testimonies and a celebration of the outside world. The notions of the commons, sharing, and communion run through her work, presented in series on wood or textile, without any hierarchy of intensity. Her practice is part of an open reflection on collective identities.
