Darius Dolatyari-Dolatdoust
Born in 1994. Lives and works in Marseille, Paris and Brussels.
Darius Dolatyari-Dolatdoust is a Franco-Iranian-German-Polish artist. He develops a multidisciplinary practice that blends visual arts, textiles, performance, and choreography. Through patchwork, quilts and costumes, he explores the notions of exile, memory and identity, utilizing living, ever-changing textiles. The costume becomes a space of metamorphosis, where bodies reconfigure themselves to give rise to new narratives. Drawing inspiration from Persian arts, family archives and archaeological references, his work creates hybrid and sensitive landscapes.
His work has been presented at several European institutions, including 19M, the Monnaie de Paris, the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles, Villa Noailles, the Mucem, the Stedelijk Museum, Mudam Luxembourg, MoMu, M Leuven & STUK, Bozar, Centrale Fies, Lottozero, and the Serralves Museum. He has notably held residencies at the Fiminco Foundation (2024) and Villa Kujoyama (2025).
