MARENGO / BONNEFOY / JOLIMONT NEIGHBORHOOD
MARENGO / BONNEFOY / JOLIMONT NEIGHBORHOOD

The Marengo / Bonnefoy / Jolimont neighborhood
From the neighborhoods of Marengo, Bonnefoy and Jolimont, with rural, commercial and working-class origins, exchanges are celebrated. The city of Toulouse can be experienced, crossed and visited from its station and its surroundings, a nerve center for local, regional and European communications. They are also lively and central suburbs, with a multifaceted history and undergoing rapid urban change linked to the transformation of the neighborhood, with the challenges that this creates: construction sites, expectations, and controversies.
Le Nouveau Printemps is delighted to engage in a dialogue with the popular, cultural, and scientific history of the neighborhood, whose rich ecosystem includes the train station, the large media library, a cultural center (former national stud farm), an art center, artists' studios, architects, an observatory, but also a social and solidarity economy center, a future cinema...
Le Nouveau Printemps thus continues its support for responsible artistic creations, in dialogue with all audiences, open to the world and attentive to our environments.
Throughout the festival, the exhibitions are accessible to all audiences and a wide program of tailor-made visits is offered. The opening weekend is also, once again, an opportunity to bring together audiences and artists, around meetings, dance performances, music and film screenings.
Shining a Light on Toulouse and the Festival's Host Neighbourhood
Through its artistic trail — each year set in a different neighbourhood of the city — Le Nouveau Printemps offers an opportunity to rediscover and celebrate the heritage, architecture, history and future challenges of the Toulouse metropolitan area. With every edition, the festival embeds itself in the neighborhood and works alongside its cultural and community organisations, local businesses, residents and artists. The neighborhoods, and Toulouse as a whole, are also regularly enriched by artworks produced as part of the festival.
The festival further contributes to the neighborhood's visibility by offering, in partnership with several organisations including the Tourist Office, the City's Heritage Department and the Maison de l'Architecture Occitanie-Pyrénées, dual-guided tours throughout the month of June, weaving together architectural, heritage and artistic discoveries. Finally, through its artistic projects and publications — including its young audiences booklet — Le Nouveau Printemps always offers a fresh, artistic perspective on the neighbourhood.
This year, Le Nouveau Printemps is collaborating with the budding journalists of "Kids Of Bonnefoy" from Bonnefoy primary school, who are dedicating their final school newspaper of the year — published in June — to their neighborhood and the people who bring it to life. They went to meet key figures from the Centre Culturel Bonnefoy and its surroundings, such as Mohamed Ananna (the centre's caretaker), Sabrina Chelal (resident relations advisor at the neighbourhood town hall) and Rémi Garcia (director of the Bonnefoy leisure centre), as well as local business owners: Chloé Bénéteau (director of the bookshop Paysages Humains), Aude Sanchez (owner of the bakery Galo'Pain), Christel Pegoraro (owner of the bakery Epi'Curieux) and Damien Villele (owner of La Presse du Faubourg). How long have they been working in the Bonnefoy neighbourhood? Why did they choose their profession, and what qualities does it require? These are just some of the questions that the students of Bonnefoy school took the time to ask — and now share with us in this final newspaper.
