A video installation somewhere between science and science-fiction.
A poetic and philosophical reflection on the habitability of the world.
Through an ensemble of sculptures and three videos, including one created especially for the festival, June Balthazard and Pierre Pauze fashion a story that weaves its way between reality and science-fiction, in which a mysterious natural phenomenon has plunged humanity into an unprecedented crisis.
The story is structured around a legendary substance, named Æther, which provided the backdrop to numerous creation myths before finding a resonance in recent discoveries in quantum physics. Following, in turn, researchers at the Cern laboratory and a survivalist castle-owner, Mass explores what keeps the world together.
