Double Takes: Danses interdites

Film Program by Le Nouveau Printemps x Loop Barcelona x KADIST

Le Nouveau Printemps, Loop Barcelona, and KADIST have joined forces to present a joint film program featuring works from KADIST’s video and film collection, blending moving images, sound, and embodied narratives. This program is part of the 2026 edition of the festival, and is specifically linked to the exhibition dedicated to “Danses interdites”—forms of dance that have been censored or suppressed for religious, political, or social reasons, yet persist as acts of resistance, remembrance, and celebration. In dialogue with the theme of the Loop Barcelona 2026 festival, Xiu Xiu (Whispers): Artist-Made Cinema and Shared Spaces in Barcelona, the selection explores dance as a language transmitted through bodies, voices, and places, and as a living archive of cultures.

The film program will be screened during the opening weekend in the Auditorium of the Médiathèque José Cabanis. A screening presented by Filipa Ramos, writer and curator, artistic director of Loop Barcelona.
