Caroline Monnet

Born in 1985. Lives and works in Montreal (Canada).

Caroline Monnet is a multidisciplinary artist of Algonquin and French descent, originally from the Outaouais region of Quebec. Trained in sociology and communications at the University of Ottawa and the University of Granada (Spain), she has developed a practice rooted in contemporary Indigenous realities, employing Anishinaabeg methodologies to challenge colonial narratives and rethink current systems. At the intersection of visual arts and film, she has presented solo exhibitions at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, and has participated in major international events such as the Whitney Biennial and the Toronto Art Biennial. Her work has also been featured at major festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival (Cinéfondation), Sundance, and the Berlinale. In 2023, she received the insignia of the Ordre des arts et des lettres du Québec.
