
Ben Russell
Born in 1976. Lives and works in Marseille.
Ben Russell is an American artist, filmmaker, and curator whose work lies at the intersection of experimental film, visual anthropology, and documentary imagery. His work has been featured at documenta 14 (2017), as well as at international institutions and events such as the Centre Pompidou, the Museum of Modern Art, the Tate Modern, the Museum of Modern Art in Chicago, the Venice Film Festival, and the Berlinale. His curatorial projects include Magic Lantern (Providence, United States, 2005–2007), BEN RUSSELL (Chicago, USA, 2009–2011), Hallucinations (Athens, Greece, 2017), and Double Vision (Marseille, France, since 2024). He is currently in residence at the Villa Medici in Rome.
